Contemporary Danish furniture brand, BoConcept builds on the popularity of the Princeton chair with new Princeton barstool and bench, all designed by Morten Georgsen.

The Princeton barstool

The best-selling Princeton chair now has a new addition in the form of a matching barstool which comes in 2 heights and 120 upholstery options. Morten Georgsen struck a balance between lightness and curvaceous visual comfort, giving the design a subtly feminine expression. The elegant backrest invites, drawing the eye down to its comfortable seat. Once seated, the design creates a cocooning effect without hindering interaction. The new designs take that striking form, giving consumers new ways to enjoy its popular look and comfort.

The Princeton bench

The need for space-optimised homes that can handle the many new functional demands we place on them has fuelled the inspiration for the addition of the Princeton bench. Moving multi-purpose/context items around a home is a great way to up utility without sacrificing space. The Princeton bench falls perfectly within this segment. Light in weight, relocate the design from the hallway or bedroom to the dining table; adding extra seating space, and a feeling of hygge, for dinner guests.

Both designs can be ordered in two base colours – matt black and ash grey lacquered – and upholstered in the brand’s full range of more than 120 fabrics and leathers.

About the designer

Morten Georgsen is a Danish furniture designer, based in Valencia, Spain. The award-winning designer, and once iF Design Award juror, is BoConcept’s longest-running design partner, penning bestsellers for the brand since 1993. His portfolio includes the iconic Milano table, the ever-cool Como, Copenhagen and Bordeaux storage collections and the London bench.

“Simplicity and functionality are BoConcept core values. It’s often believed that functional design is created at the expense of beauty. Why, when you can have both? When you combine pleasing proportions with beautiful colours, materials and craftsmanship, you create a design that evokes a good feeling,” says Morten Georgsen.
